Thanksgiving Holiday
Richie's By the Sea is hosting a benefit for Eduardo Chavez on Thanksgiving Day, 11am-2pm. Thanksgiving lunch is free and all donations go to Eduardo's family. Eduardo is a brave student at Grand Saline Middle School and has been fighting Leukemia. Please come support him and enjoy a great meal at Richie's By the Sea!

Any GSISD students who would like to come volunteer at Richie's By the Sea during Thanksgiving benefit will be credited with community service hours.

About GSMS:

Our Campus Mission Statement:
"We believe our students at GSMS will achieve
GREATNESS and CHANGE THE WORLD. This will be done through the gift of teaching to inspire our students to discover and develop their talents. We encourage community support throughout their educational journey."

Tutorials are available every day at 7:45 - 8:00 am and Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 pm.

Library books Every student is expected to check out a library book. In order to encourage reading fluency, upon arrival to the gym in the morning, students will read until tutorials begin. Students should be reading at home at least 10 minutes per/night. We also encourage students to record books they read to go toward the "40 Book Challenge"!

Student Leadership:
Our Student Led Conferences (SLC) are design to prepare our students for the real world and hold them accountable for their progress. Students are required to lead and present information about their successes for no more than 15 minutes to a panel of adult staff members and parents. Students will be trained on how to conduct the SLC using their Leadership Notebooks. Parents are encouraged to attend their child's conference. This year SLCs will be March 27-29th. All students that are absent and/or not able to successfully complete their SLC will have a rescheduled date later in the year

Our amazing students do community service in our city. We believe that serving the community is a vital part of learning leadership. The students and faculty work very hard for two days to give a fresh look to the facility.

Welcome to Grand Saline Middle School!

At GSMS our motto is, "Loving, Learning, and preparing Leaders for tomorrow!"  It is a great privilege to educate your children and help them to achieve their best in all that they do. I invite you to join us as we make this the best year yet!
